Thanks again guys, she is running again.......for now!!!

I took the lift pump out the tank an vacuumed all the diesel out the tank.
Don't worry, I'm not in the wife's bad books, I got a dewalt wet an dry vac! I could see some silver fragments in tank but not sure if that has come from Fuel station or cooked hp pump. Flushed my lines out as best as I could, cleaned the filter on the bottom of The lift pump (was pretty clean to be honest). Cleaned my filter bowl and put a new filter in.
She sounds like a tank, but at least it's progress?? Rattle seems to be coming from bottom end though an is not there all the time...could it be the crank pulley, heard they can develop a nasty rattle??

Can you check the spray pattern on injectors withouth them having a current to them?
If not, anyone know how I can supply them while I put them on pressure tester???

Does anyone know how to turn spanner light off with planet please? Also can you delete service schedules, the ones where you have to enter your mileage??

Thanks :cheesy:

You don't need planet to delete/reset the service info,
It can be done manually,

Don't try to check the spray pattern - these gadgets generate similar pressure to machines for water jet cutting metal, flesh stands no chance.

In any case they work off an 80V pulse....

I agree don't mess with injectors there lethal
Not only that the slightest bit of dust on them and they will tick
They have to be done by a specialist

On mine i reset the spanner by pushing the trip meter button in on the dash and then while pressing it in turn the ignition on,it counts down from 10 and then release the button.

Thanks for the info guys.

The 25 mile fault has come back, had to come home from work early....didn't fancy changing a pressure regulator on a roundabout
It's just a theory, but could it be anything to do with the spanner light on the dash? I have never noticed it before, but it only seems to be when I hit the 25 mile or so mark that when I turn her off she lingers on?? I had it running for about alf on hour outside the house an then about 35 mins when I was waiting for my little boy to finish in the gym....engine seems to smoke like a chimney as well....I just thought it was all the diesel an oil just burning off but it won't seem to stop?

The reason I ask about injectors is my cousin has a injector pressure tester but wasn't sure about how to power them?
Don't suppose anyone seen wheeler dealers the other week?? They had a range rover that was lumpy to say the least! Ed (mechanic) tested the injector was workin by connecting a spare injector to the loom and placing it in a lemonade bottle to see the spray pattern.....it turns out it was hs loom not injector as injector had a good spray pattern on it? Was thinking of maybe adopting his theory but I ain't got the play on the loom or pipes?.

Is the cank pulley an easy fix, if I ever get my other fault sorted??

Have you noticed any smoke coming up from the back of the engine
If so check the egr,

I had one diesel car recently it started off sounding knocky from the bottom end
And it was running on after ignition off
It was the egr. That was on a fiat mind

the problem with testing injectors at home is getting the presser to where is would be effective which would be 300bar and at that piont the spray if it's jeting rater than spraying would cut the bottal and the wall or whatever was near it

Thanks lozz

No s@@t coming from back end
In fact i don't think I have seen it that clean before, even when you put your foot down. Which is another sticky point as it don't feel like the turbo is kicking in?
Took the pressure reg out again this morn an was full of them bits again? Cleaned it, put it back an cleared code...ok for now but only done ten mile

Don't fancy cuttin through a wall or bottle madmadmax so I will heed the warning and leave the injectors where they are.
I will concentrate on trying to get past 25 miles without triggering that pressure regulator fault then deal with any other issues?

Do any of you guys know if it is ok to drive it if that rattle on vid is coming from the crank pulley?

I saw wheeler dealers where they tested the injectors on the range rover............as long as your careful its fine but is def a 2 person operation, like the range rover in wheeler dealers could be the wiring loom?
If it will run all be it a bit lumpy you could try unplugging each injector at a time while its running, could be the wiring?

Well all injectors seem to be working, noticed a significant difference when i disconnected multiplug one at a time.

Thought i would give her a little run down the M62, might even clear the old girl out. How wrong was I

Just before she got to 70 (which was a real struggle) eml came on an she slowly started to fade...
Going on what as happened before and my ongoing pressure regulator code i turned off the motoway and
came home the back way.
Got home and plugged her into planet (have i had my moneys worth out of that or what??)......to my surprise a new code
an not the regulator one, well not yet?????

Does this new code signal the end of my pug nightmare or can she recover from this and restore faith to a bereaved owner :|

Thought it looked a bit low on your last screenshots.

You've most likely got a boost leak, a faulty MAP sensor, or a minor leak in the immediate area of the sensor, its like this......
Image
and lives at the top of the intercooler
If you're friend/neighbour's got one try swapping temporarily, only takes a minute or two.

Failing that check if the big hose from the intercooler to the inlet manifold is going hard when you rev the engine, if not look for leaks, (which you should be able to hear, or see oil stains around). Other than that you could have a faulty solenoid valve / leaky vacuum pipe / dodgy turbo actuator.

Thanks for info doggy.

I was gonna swap the solenoids over in the morning, only has 2 on it.
Its my brother who has the same car, well his is a 2000 x so will be able to swap them over tomorrow night or saturday.
Will give all the pipes a good look over an see if i can see anything obvious during daylight hours. Thats if were not snowed under

Is the turbo actuator located inn the turbo itself an can it be checked with planet?
