Come on m - we all know the HDi would easily out run the old 2.0T you'd only be inviting boy racers if you put that badge on. :)

The A500 is definitely not somewhere you want to be breaking 70-80 on between 7am and 9pm (apart from the northern-most 2.5 miles before the M6). Far too many sunday drivers doing 30mph and slower!

Besides, my turbo will pwn you even if I only use second and fifth gears! I can do 5 miles without breaking down :P

Is there still that bit of road leading upto the M6, dead straight it is, which is 'bumpy' like that big concrete slab stuff but with a rythmic up and down bumpy ride. I used to do that stretch between Stoke and M6 to cut out the Wednesbury area if heading north on M6 about 6 years ago for my job and it was hypnotic (the road I mean, not my job, that was shyte) :o

Well, in the end I was boring and went to my trusty exhaust centre and got a standard rear box fitted.

The bore and the silencer however are much larger now, so I have a much nicer 'deeper' note whilst I'm driving. The quality is much better as well, I think the last one (which I actually think was the wrong one due to this one's increase in size) was built out of old baked beans tins, where this one looks and seems far better.

Total cost, £82.25 inc Vat and fitting. Not the cheapest I suppose, but I know the business and have used them before and have had no problems. It goes to show just how much difference a good reputation and good customer skills can make.

So overall I'm quite pleased and should be set now for a couple of years (especially with my 2 year guarantee! :D )

It's all nice and newly resurfaced round that bit :)

You wouldn't recognise the A500 now - they've trashed the 2 roundabouts and replaced them with underpasses underneath the most RETARDED junctions you've ever seen in your life. Just to turn right at this one junction, you need to stop for *3* sets of lights - just one junction  - all timed to be just turned red by the time the previous set hit green

It'll be interesting when they open the bus lane too, which is going to cause pain for anyone wanting to turn left! Dunno why they just didn't decide to use the 3 lanes for left, right and straight on... Damn Stoke council muppets :( Wonder exactly how much of my council tax has disappeared into that exercise in utter stupidity
