OK good luck. If you don't have a vacuum tester then I'd suggest at least testing the vac line to the turbo by sucking on it and seeing if it holds a vacuum. You should even hear a slight "clunk" from the turbo as the wastegate gets pulled across against its spring (do this with the motor off!!). Try also feeling how much vacuum gets sucked by the vac pump. Its not very scientific but it should be able to stick to your fingertip when running.

Plus of course you need to consider the risk that both solenoids are failed. In my cases one had a cracked top and the other was internally seized so swap testing did not eliminate the issue, the vac tester was the only way I realised that a supposedly "good" unit was faulty. :oops:

Let u know how you get on. I now have to find a new lift pump for my Y reg Rapier...
