Actually, I once got a reserve Commer van at work, they'd just replaced the rad but forgot to refil it - by the time I realised and killed it, it was so hot I had to stick it in gear and let the clutch out to stop it running backwards.

The Sierra valves would glow red hot with carbon etc and coupled with carbourettor [spelling?] fuelling and an ignition source they would run on with the keys removed.
We had a 1.6LX at work at the time and that would still be running-on merryily whilst you were in the process of filling up with petrol
that's when we saw it run backwards as we dropped the clutch in 1st to stall it and it shot backward

Now I'm confused. Is it leaded or unleaded I need to put into a 1.6 Sierra if I wish to remove the Bishops from the House of Lords?
