I swapped the 2 solenoids over this morning and checked the pipes, quick visual and they seem ok.
Checked the big pipe and that is going hard when I rev the engine. Still can't seem to get the car over 4000 rpm and eml is out? If the turbo is faulty, would that stop it from going higher up in the revs??

I managed to get to the motor factors before it closed an got myself a can of egr cleaner as recommended.
Done it as per instructions but it blew no smoke out and didn't pop about like a rice crispie in a rave like I
Was expecting? The only thing it done was speed the engine up when I squirted it? Don't know if that sounds
About right to you guys or am I missing something??

Weather a bit too naff now so will resume play tomorrow.

Does anyone know the best place to source replacement copper washers for injectors?

It only said to use half a can. It wasn't a little can like the halfords 150ml, this was a 500ml can.

I blow more smoke out when I fart than what come out of the cars back end
Would that be a sign that the turbo is cooked or maybe the egr has been blanked off? I have seen a few posts about egr blanking but don't know the benefits or if mine has been done as I don't know the history of the car?

if you look at the back of the engine the egr is there on the exhaust manifold and connected to the inlet manifold, from what your saying it sounds like it could be stuck open,on the bulkhead there are a couple of small electrically controlled vacumn valves one of the pipes goes to the egr valve try running the car with it disconnected off the egr and put a small bolt in the vacumn pipe see if that makes it any better.
Failing that the egr might be stuck open you will have to remove the egr valve and fit a blanking plate over the exhaust and inlet manifold, hope this helps.

Thanks mate, will do what you suggest and take it for a road test shortly.
I did notice down by the egr that there was a shiny plate sitting there, maybe it's been blanked off already?
Will try an get a pic an upload it.

if the egr valve is removed there is a plate fitted in its place take a couple of pics if you can of the area behind the inlet manifold we can see whats going on there then.
You could try carefully cleaning the maf sensor remove the top of the airbox to expose the maf and spray it with something like carb/injector cleaner don't rub it with a cloth or touch it with your fingers. It does sound like you have gotta eliminate the basic items first and not all faults will bring on the eml.

Well guys I managed to get round to cleaning the egr properly today, dirty job.....I done a step by step picturegraph if its worth posting up for other members?
EGR has not been blanked off so cant understand why other members have reported rough running and blackouts but then agian I dont know how the egr is supposed to work but i am sure all the crap wasnt helping? Unfortunately the car is still not going over 3000 rpm an has no power!!!

I changed the boost sensor today with my brothers but that made no difference either:confused:

Some pics for reference, if anyone could explain how the egr works then that would be great:thumb:
