406 HDi - 110HP - D10WATED FAP / RHZ Turbo compatibility

Hello - does any one know if the KKK K03 OEM Turbocharger from a D10WATED FAP (110) would also fit/suit my 2003 D10WATED RHZ (110)....
The part numbers are different:
-FAP OEM 9640168280 / 53039880050
-RHZ OEM 9632427880 / 53039880018
Would it just be a case of re-programming the ECU in order to compensate for the stand alone particulate filter located upstream of the catalyst.
Thanks - Todd

As far as I know none of the 110bhp HDi's ever had a FAP system
The different part numbers of the turbo's may be due to different exhaust flanges or something - we need someone with access to service box to show diagrammes of both turbos for you........

Have you got the proper engine code for the FAP car ?, as FAP isnt an engine code !, and if it is FAP equipped, could it have come off an DW10ATED4 (16v head) engine ?

Thanks, yes I thought as much but these turbo places seem to think there is a 406 with FAP engine codes!

However, on
http://wikicars.org/de/Turbocharger_application_guide it describes the D10WATED FAP engine code as being for the 607Hdi - 110HP.
So I guess I'll need to re ask the question, can I use the
607Hdi D10WATED FAP turbo for my 406Hdi 110 D10WATED RHZ engine ?

RHZ never hap FAP, in the 607 it was the RHS that had FAP and it was an ATED4 (16v) type engine, so a completely different beast with different flow characteristics, i believe the 2.2 HDI also had FAP, but again you really need the proper engine code or the chassis number (which contains the engine code) to be able to tell if the turbo will work
Or you need to find a Bosch specialist that can lookup the turbo part numbers and tell you the differences

FWIW:
ServiceBox, (as others have said), lists the DW10ATED with and without FAP for D9 406's
Also DW10ATED with and without FAP for early 607's, (but only without FAP on later 607's).
Anyway, all are the same part no. 0375 F5, and are conventional KKK units, which suggests they're interchangeable.
The DW12TED4 (406 or 607) uses the Applied Signal, (Garrett) GT1549P variable geometry turbo
The 2.016V 607 unit is listed as DW10BTED4, which uses a different Garrett, that looks like a variable geometry beastie
DW12TEDB4 is the 2.2 HDi 170 twin turbo.....

In that case, i can add to your post that the GT15 and the K03 turbos are directly compatible when it comes to connecting them up, same bolt pattern, same port sizes and same size and position on the oil lines, i played around with GT15's and K03's on seat and VW 1.8T engines and we used to swap them between engines easily

Yes, I'm sure I've read they're used interchangeably on XUD's & HDi 90's, not sure about 110's though....
Does that mean a GT15 & GT1549 have the same connections? (Would have thought that would have made it a favourite upgrade if it fitted)?

Now your testing my knowledge !!, as far as i remember, the GT15 is the core unit, and any numbers after it are just bolt on manifolds or different threaded adaptors on the oil inlets, if you take all the manifolds and bits off any GT15xxx turbo, you should be left with just a bare GT15 that will fit anything that is specified for one

I'm wrong, GT15 and GT1549 use different compressor wheel diameters as well, i'm not sure of any other differences, i'm going back 8 years now since i used to work on the 1.8T engines, and i dont have any notes on them anymore
