Hi there...ive got a 110 HDI Wreg 406 Estate...and its suddenly developed a habit of idling at 1000rpm after warming up on a run....any ideas why its this high?
If i switch off and back on again...its almost like it resets itself and idles at about 750-800rpm for a while.
Bugging me a little as to why?
Cheers

Re: 406 110HDI YR2000- Idling fast??
I know the answer to this and it is so simple to fix
The multi-pin plug on the throttle position sensor (right hand side of engine bay, behind battery, with accelerator cable attached) simply requires a little wiggle and a push home to make sure it's seated nicely.
The revs will drop down to the proper 750 ish. It is annoying when idleing too high as it takes the car along too fast with it
