Advice for the new lad!

Hello there folks, new to Peugeot ownership.
Bought a 406 110 gtx estate yesterday, it has, 123,000 miles, no service history & is the most comfortable car i've ever owned

Next week it's going in for the timing belt, a full service & a fault with the ABS fixed.
While it's getting these done is there anything else i should get done at the same time? (water pump?)

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome in mate! :)
If it's having the timing belt changed I would definitely have the water pump done at the same time. Also check condition of all the pulleys; they should be fitting a kit which comes with them but double check. Crank shaft pulley is a favourite for disintegration!

Thanks, is the stuff from euro car parts ok? I've noticed they've got 2 water pumps listed - a Circoli pump for £19:93 & a KWP pump for £27:18. Is there any real difference? Also they don't appear to have the crank pulley listed, where would be the best place for one of these ?

Apologies for all the questions, but i'd rather get it right on the first hit rather than having to re-do work that has already been done later on for the sake of a few quid.

You'll get the water pump from Euros, make sure there's a gasket in the box!
I've got a feeling the CS pulley is main stealer only but I've never done the job so not 100%

CS pulley = 0515 V6 (I think), £107.97 from Pug inc VAT

I think you can get pattern ones, but they don't have a good reputation. Tried one on my previous HDi 90 - it lasted 4 months

That part number looks very familiar! Is it the same as the V6 then? I got mine for about £3 on ebay 8) brand new in a pug box too  8)
