hello all

i love this site, so much great info on everything!

so hoping for some excellent advice. my turbo has siezed :( and i have been scouring the net for a cheap-ish replacement already had a few quotes around the £500-600 mark. and seeing as i got the motor for £650 kinda debating if there is a point!

i love my peugeot, best car i've had and quickest!! and don't want to let it go like this.
so, does anybody know/ recomend some turbo dealers? recons- worth it? don't really want to salvage but will if a last resort
also any tips for fitting yourself?

thanks guys

how about getting a refurb kit and doing it yourself ?, i did a saab petrol turbo years ago and it is suprisingly easy and quick to do, the kit cost about £60 and had new seals, bearings and other bits in it to do the full refurb with, you just need to take the turbine out of the housing and measure the shaft before you buy anything because if this is below the minimum thickness, then its not worth it

what make and model of turbo has your car got ? ideally i need all the numbers off the plate on the turbo, or even better, a picture of the plate itself, then i can see what i can find out

HI,

I'm seriously thinking of going down this route. Hopefully to cure my 'hiss' problem
Again I'm told the turbo seals, but use NO oil, have gone but I still get 50mpg on a run and 36 in town taxiing?

phew got the damn turbo out and without disturbing the sub frame :D

on the turbo tag reads exactly;
GARRETT
BA0589F
9624296380
454152-1 TB25

had a look about in Internet for a service kit, only found parts from America or china
although during dismantling there was a lot of oil in the induction hoses, i have read somewhere in here it should be expected to have some oil, but this looked excessive.

Exhaust goes in the top left of 'view 3' (also the bottom-left of 'view 1') and comes out the centre of 'view 3'... I think
