Rubbing Backplate!

Hi seem to have a problem with the backplate rubbing on the o/s/r. I took the pads out then cleaned the caliper a couple of weeks ago when the pads were sqeaking a bit made sure there were no rubbing noises on the backplate used a long screwdriver to just lever the backplate away from where it rubs when i'd applied the handbrake a few times and spun the discs round backwards and forwards a few times all seemed ok npads and pins back in and seemed fine

Just put a new tyre on the o/s/r yesterday and noticed its rubbing again. aargh....

Is there a definitive way to do the backplate so i don't end up having to strip it again. The backplate itself was all throughly cleaned and it had a coat of hammerite last year. Also patched the small holes i found with a bit of fibreglass. Probably cheaper than £90 per backplate!

Any help or advice would be appreciated just going outside to have a look now .......

Thanks
Marco

Disc ok? If its warped it would catch the back plate. I found on my old D8 that if I didnt do up the screws that hold on the disc tight it would also rub. I put some copper grease on the screws so that it wasnt a `mare to get them off again tho

On mine I had to use a screwdriver as a chisel and split open the seam between the centre and outer sections to clear out the swollen rust, then spend a few hours with a punch closing it up again.
