Hi, my 406, 2.1 turbo diesel has just failed on emissions.... I put a couple of bottles of redex in it but hasn't made much difference, also lifted out air filter. Can anyone suggest where i look next in my search for the problem? Cheers, Robbie

Chuck a few quid of petrol in the tank, them give it a good scream down the bypass. usually enough to get my stuff through.
Actually, what part of the test did it fail on?

Give it an Italian tune up, eg take it for a long run but in a lower gear to get the engine reving quite high, this should clean up the injectors nicely, if this doesn't work then you may need the injectors reconditioned.
Also change the fuel filter as the 2.1 doesn't like it when it's durty.
