Fuel Light on Dash Board

Does anyone have any idea when the fuel light on the dash will turn on? I've been pushing the driving recently because i'm broke. The low fuel warning comes on the lcd screen in the centre console, i've never had the light on the dash switch on!
At the moment the needle is in the middle of the red marker. I have a feeling that it may not be working. If there is a fault with it does anyone have any idea what it might be?

Ya its not working. You need to take the clocks out and replace the bulb. Its a standard dash bulb. You can pick them up in halfrauds.

When the light on my V6 (also a D9) comes on, it means I can put about 65 litres in the tank to brim (70 litre tank). Be acutely aware however that the 406 fuel gauge can misread by up to around 20% when the car's not on the flat!!!
My old D8s I always ignored the light, and just filled it up with about 75 litres when I could turn on the ignition and the needle wouldn't flinch... Doesn't work that way on D9s though!
