grinding front brakes

hi... grinding & knocking from f/o/side brake, can feel it through pedal only @ very slow speed. replaced new discs and pads all round, slightly better but still there!!! could it be abs rings...... :(

Hi there, welcome. Perhaps you could pull the ABS fuse, take it for a (short and careful) drive and see if it still does it.

I can't remember the front caliper setup, is it on sliding pins? I've had a similar fault on the rears in the past and it was the sliders corroded & sticking.

hi . . . thanx 4 that. all pins cleaned up like new. only doing this @ really slow speed when abs is not required, (perfect braking at speed) gonna check reluctor rings. ps, its 03 hdi (90)....... :cry:

I would jack the car and with the wheel off, spin the hub using a copper pipe over one stud, and get an accomplice to lightly brake, so you can see whats rubbing.
