Well, after thinking i had sorted my fuel pump problem last night (see Fuel Pump?) i went to take the car to work this morning only to havee the exact same thing happen as yesterday.
time to bite the bullet & buy a new pump i think.

aye its sad but if the original one is noisy and unreliable its probably best. any on ebay?

Haven't seen any that are any cheaper than euro car parts (plus i neeed it quick)
But i'm stumped as to why it's just happening in the morning!! Just been out in it, & all is well again

Well you know how some "people" are morning or night types..........maybe the 406 is as well

well an air leak before the injection pump would let the fuel bleed off from the feed lines - back into the tank and requiring re-priming every morning, had that before on a cav diesel.

An air leak due to an incorrect Fuel Filter Housing causes it to not want to start in the mornings due to depressurisation of the system.....
