hello all, any ideas to why my revs keep sticking on , not all the time but sumtimes when im in 3rd gear if i press pedal to floor it will stay there even wen i take my foot off, its quite scary, there is nothing in the way of the pedal or making it get stuck

and today me revs are sticking at 1.3 on tickover,

its only intermitant, it doesnt happen all the time

thanks 8)

Sounds like a throttle body issue. What engine have you got?

edit: You have the 1.9DT. I dont know a whole lot about the throttle on this engine. It could be a dodgy cable set up, It might be slipping and pulling in more than it should

ive just had a proper look at the cable now, and on another car, it seems my cable is not genuine, im missing the bit that clips onto the side of the airfilter box,
so to me its like a dodgy AA roadside setup, and the cable runs all way round the engine over the radiator then over the airfilter box then back on itself into the fuel pump, defo looks dodgy,

1.9 accelerator cable runs all over the bloody engine bay, that's normal:

So that's where the cupholders on a D8 are :cheesy:

More useful than a Xantia's glovebox lid cupholder though!
