sorry if this has already been a topic but couldnt work out the search thing, but the story is this im putting a 2.0 8v turbo in my 306GTi-6 it will be running a GTi 6 speed box the engine i have has covered 68k and everything is good, the cylinder head has been re-built so thats all good and the bores were checked and there all good, so im wanting to increase power, i have a modified intercooler off a landrover disco 3 TDV6 not majorly big but its long and very deep and fits loverly behind the 306 grille, all boost piping is 2.5 inch, induction kit i am running is a pippercross viper witch is a direct feed pipe from a fog on the front straight to the turbo, so wanting to tune this engine a little and wanted to know how people have done this, i have heard that putting a 205 gti cam in and also using the inlet manifold is an option, and have purchased some saab red injectors to use instead of beigh ones that are standard with the engine, but also want to increase turbo boost, was going to do this with a manual boost control, but have read that they have a boost limiter at 1bar which i belive to be 14psi which if the car hits that will put it into limp mode? now iv got the bigger injectors to compensate with the fueling but how do ya get around this limiter? hope someone can help,

many thanks in advance chris

I believe that to increase the boost pressure past 1 bar, you'll need an aftermarket ECU

im not sure what the limp mode actally does if its to do with fueling you used a fuel stop defender it think thats correct name to stop it cutting the fuel off. other option is a aftermarket ecu and map sensor as mentioned like this
