Yep, once you get it up to 2000RPM, the horizon comes crashing through your front window. Though I've found that if I'm driving up a high road, the turbo doesn't kick in until closer to 3000, which I assume is due to the thinner air.

I believe the turbo in the 1.9 is required to make it move (this may be an exaggeration - but I have read on this forum that some people don't realise the 1.9 turbo is actually working, and it's only when the turbo seizes that they realise how much of a difference it was making). It's the reliable workhorse TD.
The 2.1 has a more substantial engine and a beefier turbo; it's the fun TD.

I had a 1.9 non-turbo in a ZX once. It was an interesting car to drive in that on Motorways it wasn't a case of accelerating and keeping to the speed limit (or at least below licence losing territory), it was a case of keeping the momentum up!

mine will accelerate on a motorway and in the last fortnight seems to have more go , In have now been running on proper bio for nearly 6 weeks so maybe that helps and milage has gone up to 234,573 from 232782.
