At the moment, I am still suffering errors on my sense of humour module so please bear with me.

Yesterday I went to replace the rad on the 1.9 TD Eventually managed to get the old rad off after sawing off the lower outlet and then sawing along it and splitting it off the lower hose. Why the F couldn't pug use the standard jubilee clip???!!!!! Anyway got the new rad fitted, managed to get the old connector in, went to put water in it and it had the water retention of a sieve.

Looking through here, the hose is a pug only part I know how much it hurts to buy one (£73) but how long would I have to wait for it? Are they in the UK or do I have to wait for it to come from France?

As I need the car for work, I have a Nissan 200 which I am rebuilding and thinking I could possibly nick a water hose off that and go to the jubilee setup I have found what appears to be a suitable bit of hose with the 90 degree bend in it but as the car isn't here at the moment, I can't tell whether the internal diameter of the hose is big enough to go over the outside of the rad outlet and the metal part of the expensive hose.

Am also considering a shed load of instant gasket or slightly more permanent chemical metal to seal up the lower hose outlet. Any thoughts?

Please, make my day and say that to get to the clamp behind the engine the inner wing needs to come off for access ....

Have been doing the car today, the BMC is swapped, need to do a wheel cylinder and swapped the rear rubber hoses for braided ones then fill with fluid and bleed After working on the brakes I set about removing the lower rad hose but low and behold couldn't get enough movement through the pliers to get the clasp off the pipe at the back

Sounds like you're having a bit of a 'mare at the moment!
I tried to botch the bottom hose but I couldn't get it watertight. It is a PITA to fit, I did end up buying a new one.
