Maybe the best option is to go for a custom built jobbie from the likes of longlife or powerflow - probably talking £350 upwards for cat back
Also seen a company on ebay doing an a stainless cat back zorst for a coupe for £295 custom built to your car - ok that's for a coop, but can't see any reason why price is different, as i'm running a coop zorst on my saloon

No idea on performance cats though

No worries with legality; companies like Powerflow sell fully customized cat-back exhaust systems for any car you care to show them. I mean, they cut the pipes to length, weld them together, select an appropriate backbox, let you pick the exhaust tip, and they weld the whole thing together while you wait. They also give you a lifetime warranty (though this is not transferrable when you sell the car). You also need to take it back to your Powerflow dealer once a year for a free inspection, otherwise the warranty lapses. But it's peace of mind to know you have an exhaust that will out-last your car.

Well worth the money; my car feels a LOT younger now (there was an exhaust gas leak in the original exhaust, which warranted an advisory on my last MOT, but not enough to fail it. The car did feel tired and lacking in power (enough for me to notice it, and being a 1.8 you need all the horses you can get!), and now it feels better than it did when I first test-drove it 18 months ago.

My local PowerFlow dealer is 2 hours away in "TURRIFF", My car is curently undrivable. Can i have the Exhaust sent direct to me for fitting or wil it have to be fitted by a PowerFlow dealer?

it will be made to measure - not off the shelf.

they will need t have the car on the ramps so they can cut and bend and then fit the pipes to the route of the origiinal system.

That's where I got mine done!

Turriff Tyres, right?

They do a damned good job, very helpful, and well worth it.
