Be carefull, it was only an idea - I saw it done to remove a water pump once

I wouldn't like to encourage you to weld something to your fuel pump area without some experience first.....

There's also the possibility of stray current from the arc zapping all the ICs in the car.

try hitting the next size torx bit into place with a hammer and useing mole grips at the same time on the head of the bolt, turning both simultaniously. Usually works for me

no mate havent tried welding just that if i do weld and end zapping all the ic's in the car how would i find this out
by the looks of it am going to purchase some long nose mole grips or maybe make a groove in the bolt so my flat headed screwdriver sits nicely in place and chap it round till its loose

If you own a dremel, cut a slot into the head and then you can use a normal slotted screwdriver

It might have flagged the 'low fuel rail pressure' fault when you were re-starting the thing. This fault can clear itself after a few driving cycles.
