might be a silly question but which model have you got ?
My D8 td oil pressure gauge drops to zero after it's run it's initial check when she splutters into life which I believe is what it's supposed to do. I'm not aware that it even has an oil 'temperature' gauge, but I am a desk jockey not a mechanic so could be well off the mark. Never driven a petrol or a HDi so can't comment on them.

You sure yours is oil pressure and not oil level?

I have oil level, which tells me the level before I switch the engine on then goes off.
Sounds like the sonsors gone

They do have temp gages as my Uncles D9 has one
