Hello guys,

2000 'W' Reg 2.0HDI

Can anyone tell me the torx screw size for my engine sump plug nut please....trying to remove the oil but can find the right tool to release it, a spanner cant really get enough on purchase on the nut.

Cheers

I think these vary a bit from car to car, but mine's an 8mm allen key.

What size spanner you using? You need a 21mm or 13/16th old type.....same size as an old type spark plug socket, you not got a socket?
I've never seen one with a torx fitting, they have been 8mm allen key or the usual French square size, 8 or 9mm square.

Hi,

Got it off eventually with a combo of using a spanner and T50 torx socket /screw. Was overtightened by last bloke who changed the oil i think, Anyhow will have to get a new sump plug next time round.
Looks like its been changed as you say should be square drive in the end not Torx.

Cheers
