hi guys i have a 110 hdi x reg thats currently in limp mode just now due to the fuel pressure could this be causing it to drink the diesel badly as i seem to be going through alot of fuel

The HDI engines rely on stupidly high fuel pressure to work properly. I could well believe low pressure causing bad economy...

you need to give your car a good service to improve fuel efficiency mate.another area i would do first is changing the complete fuel filter housing and do a bit of cleaning of the fuel lines.the tyre pressures should be mantained as per Pug advice this is the area that we neglect easily and can result in poor fuel efficiency.change the oil filter, air filter, pollen filter and possibly to improve on the limp mode have a look on your mass air flow as well.low fuel pressure on the fuel lines have no direct bearing on poor fuel problem.HDIs like their defination ( HIGH PRESSURE DIESEL INJECTION ) if there is low fuel pressure from the intank pump to high pressure pump in the engine you will have the non start problems on these cars.if you are in doubt about the fuel pressure take the car to a garage that specialises with diesel engines and let them test the psi on cranking and start up and have the measurements taken to confirm whether the fuel pressure is consistent with the recommended PSI on these HDI engines.

well guys took off the fuel regulator and cleaned it out with some air made sure there was nuffin blocked also took off the metal fuel lines and cleaned them started car up and my turbo boost was back took it for a run it cut out and took 20 turns for it to start must have been air in the system took her back home and she wouldnt start moved crank sensor and she started fine no engine management light or nuffin now

With the diesel its essential to keep all the filters clean, use good diesel and have it well serviced, and that redex stuff helps keep everything clean
