Just wondering if I would notice a difference in my car's performance if I did these following mods.....
Pipercross Viper Induction (It's the one with the carbon fibre around it........Cost £189.99 when new!)
De-cat exhaust.
I have already disconnected the EGR, just wondering now if I de-cat and put an induction kit on if I will notice any difference?
2 Easy mods......would I notice a difference though?

You should notice the improvement from the decat more than the induction kit. A remap is the next easy mod to do, but it can cost you.

You'll notice the difference with a de-cat. I did mine and its the best 'mod' i've ever done on any car, also all you need is a piece of pipe
Don't reckon the induction kit will do you any good at all, they rarely do. Plus the 406 airbox doesnt seem that restrictive to me and has a nice cool air feed from the front bumper. A clean paper filter or a K&N panel will give you the same results for a fraction of the price.
Finally, I would get all your mods done before a remap as a good tuner can incorporate these 'mods' into the map and potentially give you a bit more power than if you did it the other way around

The Cat on a diesel works differently to a petrol. But what I have made out from reading on the net is de-catting a diesel allows the turbo to spool up a lot quicker and gives the car a better mid-range.

The induction kit will make a nice noise when you give it some stick on a petrol. Being a diesel, I wouldn't imagine for it to do much!
De-Cat - Is it illegal in the UK?

The filter will have a coarser mesh, so it'll let more air in yes, it'll also let more dust in. I wouldn't want one here 'cos it's very dusty, plus if any volcanoes decide to vomit ash across Europe it's not really ideal.
I think we're already decided the diesels are clean enough to pass the diesel emissions test without a cat stuffed up the exhaust.

there is the de cat process but can a de-DPF be done, and would that get rid of the antipollution fault light if it ever come on, also can all this be done while keeping the car quiet, i know some people like the sound of a diesel but i dont really think its something i want to hear, its no alfa v6 after all.
