hello all, had a new clutch fitted 6 months ago 1.9td bout a month back car got a bad judder in reverse only but now its also doing it in 1st gear , its very bad when the engine is very hot and car has been in use for over 2 hours,
can a clutch really fail after 6 months ? what would be the reason for this ? wrongly fitted ?
the person that fitted it says the clutch MAY be covered under guarantee BUT labour isnt and i will have to pay for a new clutch fitted again

Sounds as though the release bearing may be sticking, did they replace it with the clutch?

WRONG! If they screwed up (and a dodgy clutch won't cause judder, just poor fitting) then they're legally obliged to fix it
However it does sound like an engine mount...

checked clutch cable today. i pulled it back and forth from the bracket and its making a very unusual sound like its scraping inside sumwere,
can also feel a vibration when the noise is heard as well, gonna replace it this weekend see if that stops the judder

can a sticky clutch cable cause clutch judder
THE JUDDER ONLY HAPPENS WHEN ENGINE IS HOT (IN USE FOR OVER 1 TO 2 HOURS)
WHEN ITS COLD THERE IS NO JUDDER AT ALL

Yes, your cable could cause the judder, but make sure your engine mountings are in good condition first.
I have had judder with driving school cars where the dust from the clutch material has clogged the bearing slide and when warmed up causes the bearing to stick on its slide....lack of correct lube on the slide can also cause judder (sticking bearing).
Check the terms of your warranty, did it include parts and labour? Most clutch warranties might not cover the labour, if the clutch is faulty, the garage could quite rightly argue that there was nothing wrong with their work so they are entitled to get paid for replacing the faulty clutch....unless as I mentioned, you have a parts AND labour warranty.

when i press the clutch peddle you can feel a sticky squeeky noise as well as feeling it in your foot,
also the bracket that the clutch cable pulls when the clutch it pressed is also making a creeking sticky noise
its like a noise you get from door hinges in your home when you havnt oiled them for 10 years

todaY i sprayed WD40 on the bracket that the clutch cable connects to on top of the gear box,
the judder has eased up a lot better now it doesnt do it half as bad, still get that slight judder in reverse tho,
could it be the nilon bushes that the bar sits in ?
im gonna try sum silicone spray 1st, but so far so good its pointing to the nilon bushes i think

The exact symptoms for a rusted clutch cable. Lubricating won't do anything more than mildly ease the problem for a day or two - you need a new cable...
