radiator how much

hi just found this forum . own a 406 w reg . its been a good car only cost me £600 13 mths ago and it's never missed a beat . just started with a water problem air lock's ect i think rad is on it's way out . full of gunge due to age ect . how much would it cost to replace it , thank's for help :wink:

Expect to pay around £100, I bought mine from Eurocarparts, seems fine and it's been in for 2 years :)
Be prepared to replace the bottom rad hose as well, the conrad fitting (push-fit to rad) will most likely be corroded to hell. Can be bodged with another connector & some splicing but a new hose is about £60 from memory.

Helps if you give us a few more details on your car - cc, petrol / diesel etc.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

thank's that's helpfull. i plan to keep car if ican as it's been good up to now and i like it . it's done 110.000 mls and run's spot on just cooling prob's at mo so ill sort it and keep car at least 12 more mth if poss :P

Depends on the connector...

My V6's is just a couple of hoses shoved over the ends with jubilee clips holding 'em in place. Took me minutes to get the old hoses off (due to a crud infestation) and seconds to get them back on again.

Getting the radiator out is also a piece of cake... just two clips at the top then pull it out of the engine bay 8) Bumper-off jobbie on my golf...
