hi guys i revved the car up today from the engine bay and noticed some exhaust fumes/smoke would this cause my car to fail an mot

does my car have a Particulate Filter its a hdi 110 2.0l 2000 reg

We've never had a 2.0 HDi FAP appear on these here boards so I feel comfortable in saying NO! Have a peer under it anyway, you'll know soon enough.

had a look there no fap on the car
flexi pipe is fine no broken bits no broken joints
im now thinking it could be my egr any ideas how i get this off to give it a good clean i think mine is maybe blocked

the reason y i think its now my egr blocked is after reading about faults with it it says rough idle and bad acceleration can occur when this is at fault and i have those 2 problems plus a strong smell of exhaust fumes could it be broke or could it just be needing cleaned

I think soot coming out of your tail pipe is also a symptom. Not really sure, I'd just refer to Haynes but I think you need to cut the old clamps off and replace. Oh, and fingers like a facehugger from Alien.

am getting soot from the tail pipe aswell i will have a look at this tomorrow thanks for the help mate
