In Australia a lot of 406's with the Lucas Epic pump are failing putting heavy pressure on the 405 Bosch pumps for conversion. The conversions done here are not always working, things like cold start, tacho not working etc.
Yesterday I heard that I might be able to source a Lucas Pump kit for around 120 euros. Do anyone have any leads. I know how bad the Lucas pumps are but since mine is only leaking I figure a kit might get me through. The Lucas pump has lasted 320,000klms in my case but it seems to be a time thing over here with numerous cars failing in the last 12 months as though going out in sympathy in some sought of class action.
FYI Bosch conversions here cost around Aus$ 2000 and a reco Lucas about Aus $5200 - which in the Lucas case is worth more than the car. Second hand Bosch pumps are bringing up to $1300 alone and regularly sell for $700.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated

Re: 406 stdt lucas pump kit
Hi there! I've not heard of a kit but I guess it must be possible. I had a Google (why is it every time I put Lucas EPIC in the search I get fecking Star Wars?
) and I saw someone saying they got a kit off these bods http://www.darwendiesels.com/common-rai ... fm?id=9417 there's not much detail on the site though but might be worth an email.
