Clutch slip gone

Some of you regulars will know that my 406 has been laid up for a while with an immobiliser fault, now its back on the road I have noticed that the clutch slip that was there whenever it was in the power band has completley gone. Yes gone! and I have been ragging it :o
It has now done 600 miles since so that must rule out rust on the good old dmf.
Has anyone got any theorys?
Maybe a rest is as good as a change.
Since it has been laid up the EML is permanatley on and it was going into limp mode at both ends of the rev counter, I have temporarily cured it by deactivating the 3rd piston on the HP pump. Too much pressure I assume but it will have to wait til after the mot - never a dull moment with a pug eh!

On the top of the HP pump is a 2 wire solenoid that activates the 3rd piston when engergised. It is energised below 1400rpm (ish) and more than 2/3 load or throttle by the ecu, one of the wires goes to 12v and the other to the ecu which switches it to 0v to energise it.
It is designed to reduce the load on the pump during normal cruising and works in conjuction with the closed loop pressure control formed by the pump, the pressure sensor on the common rail which connects to the ecu, the ecu then controls the regulator on the side of the pump as well as the 3rd piston.

so you just disconected it ? is yours chipped to up pressure ? i ask as i wonder why its necessary.

It is standard power output, I pulled the plug on the solenoid to reduce the pressure as I suspect the regulator is struggling to maintain the pressure, it was a case of suck it and see at the time and I was only looking for a difference of when it went into limp mode.
I have read that these regulators sometimes clog up and cause problems, I will take it out and clean it when time permits.
