Well had a wee problem in august one chilly morning car would not start,,,,but did later once it warmed up...this morning -5 and hard frost, car starts goes half a mile then sputters to a halt......engine management light on and anti pollution warning....leave it 5 mins gets it home.......now sunny and warm and take car for a drive warning lights are still on...stop car turn off....then start again ..lights have gone car if fine
Now i have read about removing the fap filter thingy bob as this could be the problem.......question should the cold air be making the fap filter thingy worse as the car runs like a dream in normal weather
thanks in advance.

Can't see any reason why the FAP system would affect cold starting / running.
Bear in mind, 'ANTIPOLLUTION FAULT', is Pug-speak for ANY engine management fault - a dogdy sensor / bad connection anywhere will give this message.
It's not temperature related, but I would try to eliminate the lift pump from your enquiries, if possible.
