has anybody replaced the lucas fuel pump on a 2.1 with one from a 1.9 or 1.8?

reason i am wanting to do this is that i think my pumps seen better days, but i would like to be able to play with the fueling, as well as try out the old chip fat, lol.

what would i need to this? just the pump, or is there more to it?

There is a member on here (their name escapes me atm) who has put the 1.9 Bosch pump onto the 2.1 and fitted a bleed valve and upped the fuelling IIRC. I'm sure they'll be along soon enough, but in the meantime, why not try the search function and see what turns up?

This is something that I may fancy doing at some point, although you may lose the rev counter IIRC.

well i have put on a 1.9bpsch on a 2.1
not an easy job --only made difficult because of the very extremely tight timing belt requiring 2 people and a special technique to do it
bt w if u want a lucas epic pump guarenteed working i have one

lol, thought the belt was a pretty tight fit anyway when i changed it last year, take it this makes it worse?

and out of interest, how much would you be after for the lucas pump, and do i not need to fook about to get past the immobilizer?
