406 hdi 110 2002 model lack of power/missfire

thought i would post on here first see if its a common fault before i go investigating.my 406 hdi estate 110 model 2002 driving today has lack of power when the foot is put down turbo works around the 1500 mark above the 2000 it doesnt seem to boost as i said when i put foot down it has no go in it like either lack of fuel etc,i've no lights coming on and not wanting to pay the dealers prices for a scan.any info appreciated,i might change fuel filter and air see how it goes.
