still need to change my cable, but its to damn expensive,

does any1 know what the thing is that clips to the side of the airfilter box, as mine doesnt have this, sum1 must have fitted an aftermarket type before i owned it,

and when my pedal is pressed to the floor the fuel pump isnt engaged in the max position, it only pulls it over 3/4 of the way

might be why my car is so slow

Gary, these are available from factors, my local guy charged me £16 for the last one I bought.
If you are anywhere up my way, my guy said he would sell you one at the price I pay.
They come as a kit with an inner cable, outer cable and various bits to fit the cable correctly.

You mean the clip that the outer cable sits in?
That clip has nothing to do with the adjustment of the cable, you adjust the cable by pulling the outer cable tight and take off the spring clip on the outer cable, move it so that you only have a little play in the cable (engine warm/fast idle off).Move the clip along the slots.

These cables kits are fine.Identical? No idea, but they fit perfectly.

heres the clip on the 1st pic,

the 2nd pic is the metal thing im on about , thats meant to sit in the clip on the 1st pic,

i dont have this on my car, just wondered what its for thats all, the cable fitted to my car now is adjusted as far as it can go and it still doesnt pull the pump into its max position,

From what I see in your pictures the throttle cable appears to be fitted completely wrong.
Perhaps someone with a 1.9td could have a look at how theirs is routed and confirm.

These are the guys I use mostly, they are very good, they nearly always have anything I ask for, I spend hundreds with them every month......http://www.carparts-finder.co.uk/city-B ... ories.html
The £16 is the price I would pay.

I'm going down to Warrington on friday if that's any good to you....I was there all day today.
