Hi guys i,ve recently purchased my 2nd 406 turbo, love these cars, 88000 miles with mot till next year for £450 i thought it was a bargain. Anyway i,ve fitted a MBC and i,ve read on here about that it should read a low psi, i hooked up my boost gauge to the pipe leading to the dump valve, took it for a spin and it was showing 11psi, i,m sure i havent fitted the BC correctly, as adjusting it does nothing, i,ve noticed there is the pipe to the actuator but not one that goes to the turbo. Does anyone have like the noobs guide to installing one on this engine. Cheers

whats happens when you remove the bc and just use the original boost solinoid

strange i think that max they boost stock is between 7 and 8 psi. is there any signes of modifications maybe some one had already fitted a bc and its out of sight. Only other thing i can think of is he wastegate might be stuck but id expect it to boost higher than 11 psi. if you can check that you waste gate operates ok u can do this with a usual car foot pump stick on the end of the actuator press the pump and see if arm moves that operated the wastegate.
i dont know if you can set the boost level with a ecu remap but it might be worth having a look at the ecu to see if theres any indication that is been remaped like a sticker or marking

right the actuator isnt sticking i,ve tried that, and no markings on the ecu to state its been modified, also no other boost controller fitted. I,ve tried it everyway, conected the out the to actuator, and tried all 3 of pipes that go to the original boost solanoid, the only time it changes is if the in side of the boost controller is connected to the pipe that leads to the charged air, it then just boosts at 5psi and wont go up or down
