I only use supermarket stuff, but it stopped freezing since I made it up more concentrated (in answer to my own question).

Vodka sounds like a plan to me (I haven't got any other use for it...). And this week I am mostly using: the more expensive stuff my mate sells, it's twice the price of supermarket stuff but that only goes down to -20.

Nah, the winos make their own wine and brandy here so the screenwash is safe.

I was thinking of the vodka idea but i dont have any access to it, ive never purchased an alcoholic beverage before, would brandy do, i see some of that in the house which i believe was used on the christmas pudding.

I've been using the Halfrauds concentrated screenwash; it was 50:50 mix but I've been feeding it with neat stuff.
A bit moot now as the temperature is +7 today!

Screenwash is good stuff for normal days, because i recall with the big wash tank in the 406 the water goes stagnant quite quickly, and it doesnt smell nice, so now with the screenwash it smells quite nice.

I just use which ever concentrate, not diluted, stuff is on special at my local motor factors. If you read the instructions it will tell you how much to dilute it by if at all. Using this method mine haven't frozen at -11 which is the coldest we've had in the West Country. I figure this is also cheaper than letting it freeze and chancing some expensive part to break.

I got some from my local motor spares, cant remember the name but it said it was for arctic conditions! It was too, used a 50:50 mix and it hasnt frozen up once, it actually works for de-icing the screen too. It was £6.99 for a 5ltr bottle. I'll try to find it out and post the name of it.
