the noise is coming from behind the dash/bulkhead, it sounds like a little motor or run on pump,
the noise disapears after a min or 2 depending on how cold it is outside ,

nope no change.
its related to the heater because when the engine is cold it does this & when the car as been used /run it doesent and it wont do it again till the temp is realy cold ,

it doesnt do this on warm days either,

my old ford galaxy used to do this as it had a booster for the heater & a run on pump but ididnt think pugs had this hence why ifind it strange it making this low-pitched humming noise,

my money is still on the motor for the air re-circulation flap,

take the glove box out - 5 min job, and unplug the motor see if the noise stops,,,

ah sometimes the actual heater motor can squeak a bit in the cold, turn it up to full blast.

no the fan usually turns off when the keys out, the only low pitched noise from the bulkhead is that thing for the brakes, push the pedal quickly a few times and it goes quiet.

right o,

had another look the noise isnt coming from inside the car its coming from under the bonnet Middle of the car -bulkhead area, but what ever it is -it must have links to either the coolant or the heater as it dont make this humming whinning noise when either the car is warm or the Weather is, :|
