Does anyone know any other places in the West Mids area that do this diag system or is it stealer only places?

any help on this would be great as i dont want to shell out £90 just for 1hrs work

The very reason i'm looking into getting my own mate !!! robbery is'nt it.......if you have'nt read the post take a look under the heading "code reader"
Two Vauxhall's i owned i only needed a paper clip pen and paper to solve three faults, learnt my lesson after paying £35 almost ten years ago for them to tell me they did'nt know, after some research i discovered the paper clip trick........might even work for the 406 too but ive never seen a mention.
Shame as a club we could'nt all chip in and have use, probably unworkable but imagine the cost !!! pennies.

there is no EML light on the dash at all

but im fuel zapping problem still remains only getting 50miles to a quarter of a tank, when i took it into the stealers they claimed it could be various things but £90 is to much for something that might not even show
(but saying that at the moment the fuel is being used as it should on the last fill i got 100miles to a quarter of a tank (which is what im used to)

I filled the tank upto 3/4's the other day the first quarter i only got 35.7 miles out of, but ever since i reset the clock and been watching the miles the needle is saying ive done 45miles so far and where the needle is, its on track to get 100miles out of a quarter of a tank..

This car is doing my sodding fruit in with the fuel atm

The fuel gauge isn't linear, especially on D8s. If you want to check your MPG, fill your tank to the brim, drive a few hundred miles, then brim it again. You can work out the MPG from your mileage in-between fills, and the amount of fuel you put in.

The gauge will probably stay at 100% for the first 50-150 miles, the middle section will appear to disappear quickly, then once you get past the red you'll wonder what the heck the car's running on. In my experience with D8s you can safely drive them until you turn the ignition on and the fuel gauge needle just about twitches. In my experience, that means you've got about a gallon left in the tank. This may not be the case on yours, so be careful running it low.

When the low fuel light comes on in D9s, you DO need to put some juice in soon, but on my D8s you had about 100 miles left at around 40mpg
