Odd vibration

Post by Miles »

I?ve just gone over all the front suspension replacing springs drop links, Rack & Rod ends and all the ball joints are fine, I?ve still got a vibration when accelerating from around 40>70mph anything under or over is fine, Wheels are new as are tyres and made no difference either, Only thing I can think of is driveshaft out of balance but there?s no play in either, Any idea?s?

is the vibration transmitted through the steering wheel? if so could it be a warped ( cracked)disc? or sticking piston? have you checked the engine/gearbox mounts i had a clutch 'professionally fitted' and they broke my gearbox mount but bodged a repair, thought i had square wheels

Someone else had this recently and we came to the conclusiojn that the Differential Bearings were worn.

The driver would experience vibration when accelerating but it would dissapear immediately when you throttle off.

Similarly they embarked on a huge programme of replacing just about everything on the front end but to no avail, we never heard from them as to whether they got it sorted but I made professional enquiries (and others on here) and we were 100% is was the Diff.

Intresting you say about the Diff bearing's I did think about this but they where replaced when I did the clutch, but it could well be, I know it's not the brakes as left foot braking doesn't effect it at all, Engine mounts fine, Just changed the top one again today due to engine clonking.
I'll look further in a few weeks time, when I get some time
