Hi ! Not the Pug listed but older 110 Hdi 2000 model. Turns on starter, tank pump runs, 'economy mode' shows on display.
Not well maintained, very high mileage (225k), engine diagnostic light on for ages, went into 'limp' mode now and again,
recently went into 'limp' mode more often ! Any suggestions ?

its no good guessing if the EML is on its on for a reason mate
get a test done and post the codes up here .... sum1 will then tell you whats wrong

Hi Jim & Welcome to the site.
Economy mode sounds a bit odd as this normally only appears if your running accessories for a prolonged period with the engine off. It's reset by starting the engine. (Thinking out loud - would this happen with repeated attempts to start)?
As Gary says, a code read would help.
Post your location in case someone local to to you is willing to help......

Cheers so far !
Economy mode is probably on due to caning starter and low battery ?
My Diesel expert suspects fuel spill off pressure excessive which would make sense
and can see a switch that answers that description behind the fuel filter, (replaced the filter).
So new injectors likely ?
Get codes read ! I'll have you know I'm known to be tighter than a submarine's porthole !
Am in Harlow (Jc 7 M11 ) Much beer and folding beer vouchers to any assistance.

A low battery on a multiplex car will give you all sorts of problems, you're best of either giving it a good charge if it'll take it or replacing it, just to start on a level playing field.

Yipee ! Replaced double ECU control relay (cracked case and possible damp ingress), which powers pressure control valve, fuel pressure sensor, fuel pump and I think trips 'Collision Isolator', pressed the button and vroooom ! Thanks for clues. Jim
