well after fitting my front fog lights i have noticed oil on the bottom of the engine
it looks like it could be coming from the pipe that runs in the middle of the engine underneith.
just been garage and booked it in for a free inspection.
im pissed off now seeing oil ...
any ideas were it could be coming from . any well know places ? sump seal maybe ?

Could be from anywhere really, "the pipe underneath" - would this be the intercooler feed from the turbo? they can leak anyway, quite normal. Otherwise it could be from the turbo (again, they like to weep a bit) or from the main crank seal (runs down and makes it look like the sump is leaking), or it could be the sump....
My 1999 D9 leaked a bit and would occasionally leave a little drip or two on the drive but, really, unless it leaves a mini oil-slick I'd leave it alone - for example; replacing the main crank seal is a clutch-out job

ye also i think road grime mixes with the bits of oil on the engine and make it look twice as bad
