i had a diesel leak somewhere around my tank area.i wiped it all down to see if i could see where it was coming from, and when i did,i was suspecting it was appearing to come from the seam beside where the return pipe goes back in.But i kept getting a strong smell o diesel in the car from time to time.Put car into garage this morning.
Phoned the mechanic today to see how he was getting on.He said that the guy that had it before me,had tried to seal up a ring on the top of the tank or something with silicon seal. Also said that it was sailing with diesel. He's waiting on a part coming from peugeot for tomorrow.
Any o you guys care to have a guess at what he means? Im wondering if he means the hole on top o the tank where(i think) it can be accessed for the pump maybe?never had a look so wouldnt know.as i say im just curious
what ya all think(with the sparse info i've given?)

They used a hammer & chisel on the locking ring for the pump, burgered both the ring and the seal up and shoved it back in with silicon, then flogged it quick :?

I used a hammer and BFO screwdriver on mine when i fitted the new lift pump, it ran fine and didnt leak, smell or fart afterwards, but i have heard of people having problem putting the 110 one in properly and if you are a little heavy handed with the BFO hammer and knocky onny bit then............................. well silic@nt and a quick sale might just be the way forward :supafrisk:
