Hi folks,
Wee question for you knowlegable people out there. I have an 110 HDI and up till I had the fuel filter replaced it had been running fine. I now have problems on occasion with lack of power. It wont rev over 3500, however if I put the clutch in and hold it for a second then release (all whilst driving) I get a surge of power before it goes back to lazy mode. It's as though its overfuelling but not sure how that's possible. Do you think chucking injection cleaner in the tank will clear the problem or is it something more sinister.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Ps. have checked all hoses and the turbo is spinning up fine.
It was a friend who swapped the filter for me. If it were simply an air lock could you explain how to get rid of it. I have basic knowledge (and a haynes manual to fill in the gaps). Hopefully that will be enough to allow me to clear it?
Ok so it's not a airlock. Just to add: If I rev the car to 3000rpm and hold it there, after a few seconds the car gives a slight stutter then drops the revs to around 2000rpm until I let the pedal up for a second or two, and then I can rev it again.
Anyone help on this please as I am well and truly stumped??
