Well...its that time. My 406 has given so much considereing how little I asked of it when I bought it for £370 last year (d8 with hdi 110 engine) that it pains me to say goodbye but the job situation and the need for more space means moving on... I'm picking up a new car tomorrow, but I feel kinda silly. I filled up my 80 litre tank on monday... i didn't think I'd find the ideal replacement so quickly!

Anyway, the main question is... i'd like to get most of that into the new car (especially with diesel at 145.9 on the isle of man) so whats the best way to go about it? Is the fuel tank easily accessible, or is it easily siphoned?

Since you're parting with it, it might be possible to connect a hose to the fuel filter water drain, (drain off any water first), then lead it into the tank on your new motah. Each time you turn the ignition on the lift pump will shove some fuel through the hose for 4-5 seconds....

If you can identify the fuel pump relay & bridge the contacts, so much the better......

Careful tho - it'll make an unholy mess if the hose comes off / falls out of the tank. :supafrisk:

stick a long peice of hose pipe into the filler tank hole with a bucket on the floor.

suck your hardest (on the hose pipe) and do it that way. probably the best way that.

that will be the best easiest way mate.

or if you know any1 with a garage that may have a pump .

when i use to deliver vans and collect them we had a very long pipe with a pump in the middle. we use to stick the pipe down the filler hole and connect the pump to the battery and it use to syphon it all out. good bit of kit.
