RARE SOUND FROM THE DIESEL FILTER

I´m having a rare constant mid-treble horned sound coming from the IN-PIPE of the diesel filter.
It mostly shows in the morning while engine´s still cold.
Sounds like a vibration and stops if car´s temp is over 70 degrees.
I´ve removed the 2 pipes from the filter and while rebuilted seems to dissapear but this morning I heard it again ( half loud than before ).
   ?¿
Thanks a lot

Hi mate,
Mines made a noise all through winter from the filter area,
it hasnt done it since the weathers warmed up tho,
ive no idea what does it but it doesnt seem to come up with any running problems,
iwouidnt worry about it,

Maybe it couid be the filter housing vibrating :?

I presume yours are Bosch filters because they're earlier, I was also getting a noise from my Mahle filter when the weather was cold, I'm not sure if there are any valves in there but the only choice is to change it (about 70€) or ignore it until it does something more annoying.

In winter, there's a thermostatic element (somewhere :? ) that directs fuel via the thermostat housing (I think) to pre-heat the fuel to further raise combustion efficiency.

On a cold winter's morn you will mostly hear a kinda 'sing' from the filter housing on initial ignition-on.

I'm selling a used filter housing, worked fine as a backup for my old 406.

But it is the 2 port type with the ribbed Siemens-style top. (ie. NOT Bosch hexagon).

Yes . you´re right.
The noise exactly appeared as soon as the first low temperatures appeared.
As you say , no problems are noted while driving.
Thanks to the members that answered me too .
It was very helpful.
Sorry for my English.
