HDI 110 Sluggish Performance

Post by panadero »

My engine is the low emissions (149) model and has done 33000 from new. It is rather sluggish certainly compared
to my previous 306 TD 1.9 estate. Is this the price you pay for a low emissions engine? Certainly the 406 estate is
a heavy beast so maybe it needs the 2.2 engine. Would not like to tow a caravan with mine. Any thoughts?

Ihad a 03 plate 110 hdi last week tbh ithought it was a slug so isold it i just didnt rate it,
My Vreg 110 hdi goes like stinky stuff off a shovel,
its had some tinkering with the ecu so that might be the reason why its a bit quicker,

idont think the 110s shouid be slugs tho they was in a magazine best towing car of the year in a caravan magazine iread,

110 HP is the power my old saloon had, and it's not great at overtaking. What your car has that mine didn't is torque - it will be a good tow car, but with or without the caravan/trailer, the performance won't exactly set the world on fire.

A well-designed ECU remap will improve the towing characteristics of your HDi 110.
