IDLE ISSUE

Hi all

I have an issue with the idle on my 406. When I start up the idle is perfect. Idles at about 1000rpm. Once the car is warm the needle jumps between 800-1000rpm up and down. I have had the issue for a while now and thought a service might fix the issue. Changed oil, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs. Have removed idle step motor and cleaned it as it was quite dirty. No change as the idle is still crazy.

I thought of changing the oxygen sensor in the exhaust but not too sure if this will help.

This is driving me crazy.

Any ideas on what the issue is.

I was thinking lambda sensor while I was reading that - try holding the engine at about 2k, if it still bounces up and down change the sensor.

thanks for the info. yes the idel still bounces at 2k. think it might be best to change it.
