Hi guys

Recently Ive noticed that when I go to use the car in the morning (or whenever its been standing over night for example) Ive started to hear a slight whinning noise when i press the clutch pedal in to select a gear, after the engine has warmed up (eg been running a while) i cant hear it

any ideas what it could be, does the clutch need replacing? as i don't think its ever been changed :|

any ideas would be great, thanks

try checking theres enough Gear oil,
and top up if its low,

someone else had the Sameproblem and it was cured with some oil added,

other than that if it dont cure it it couid be Thrust bearing

There isnt a Compartment as such,
ithink if irember correctly you Remove The Reverse switch from Gear box and you top up from there,

Hopefully someone will post up a diagram shortly,

or Just Shout mr earwig hes very good at helping out with Diagrams 8)

That might be early signs of the release bearing going :(

The 75W80 should do the trick. The level plug is on the back of the diff, you'll need to get the car dead level somehow while still being able to get underneath it...

From mjb's clutch change how to - you can just about see it half way up the diff casing:
