Ah yes, 'twas many years back. At the time the exhaust for the HPi was a dealer only part, middle £110, back £240 (+ fitting), mine had gone right on the joint so needed both bits. Custom built stainless full system (CAT back) £350 from www.longlife.co.uk with a lifetime warranty. Guess which option I chose 8)

I went with a Powerflow exhaust for £350 (parts, labour, and VAT included, plus the free lifetime warranty) because all the quotes I'd been given from exhaust places for a mild steel replacement for my old 1.8 saloon were around the £450 mark.

For something that will rust through within a few years, I figured "stuff that" and went for the cheaper, rust-free solution.

Don't do what I did though - TELL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY before you go and fit a stainless system. Make sure you know how much your premium will be affected, as it may be significant enough a difference to make you think twice. Bloody bastards.

Hi fella's
You were right, but lady luck must be on my side! :)
Tried 6 companies - nothing, some said parts next Wednesday ???
Went to Alan Campbell in Ladybank - a small local business - one call - part in 3pm today! (Good Friday in more ways than one) :D

Turns out it's the centre section and like yours Dai, the flange has gone the rest was ok :frown:
Best News - £100 fitted cash! 8) plus a wee dram of course :?

May look at a stainless steel in time, seems like the best long term option.

Once again thanks for your help guys superb as usual :)

Have a great Bank Holiday weekend 8)
