Hi, I have a 2003 Peugeot 406 HDI estate auto with 75,000 miles , belt has recently been changed and has full service history.. When engine is cold it drives fine, but after a few miles when engine warms, it starts to misfire and goes lumpy. Have put on computer and it showed camshaft sensor, changed this and checked timing as well, but problem still exists. it will always start and tick over when warm, but when accelerate, it misfires and goes lumpy... any help would be appreciated.

Perhaps a problem with the coolant temperature sensor?

i had the same problem when it got warm it started to misfire and when i revved and let the engine settle to idle it misfired then too. but mine smoked at idle aswell and even more when I revved the engine it smoked even more and it turned out to be the injectors.

one thing i noticed was when i slowly pressed the accelerator and held it just over 1000rpm and listened you could hear the engine missing slightly on one of the injectors if yours does this it could be the injectors but the way i found out it was my injectors was with a bit of old mechanic work

if you remove your injectors and they are really blocked up with carbon this also could mean that its the injectors because my old injectors where really bad and i have had my new injectors out since and there is no problem with soot or carbon and my engine now runs fine

hope this helps (BEALEY)
