2.0 turbo running problem

Hi all

I have an issue with the 2.0 turbo engine that I've fitted to my 205. It doesn't seem to want to start with out using 'easy start', when its idleing it's ok but if you press the throttle the revs drop and it nearly dies, I get the odd backfire too as I try to rev it. It's one of my projects that's nearing completion and I'm just getting it ready for the mot, I've not had it running much as the neighbours complained about the noise so this problems only just come to light.

Any ideas guys?

There was another member on here that fitted one in a 306 that had very similar symptoms to yourself, i think it turned out to be crank sensor and plug leads.
Im putting mine into a Xsara VTR

Cheers for the reply TB.

I've finally got to the bottom of it now and it turned out it was some damaged wiring going to the crank sensor.

All thats left to do now is get it mot'd :cheesy:

Dunno yet, I've only taken it round the block so far, it just wheelspins when I put my foot down

I've ordered a set of toyo proxes which should help me get the power down a bit better.
